1 1/2 tsp. Salt
1 3-4 lb. Beef Tenderloin (trimmed)
1 1/2 tsp. Pepper
Mesquite or Hickory Chips
1 Cup Barbecue Sauce
Prepare smoker or grill, including a pan of water
Soak hickory chips for 30 minutes
Sprinkle roast with salt and pepper, place in smoker and cook for 30 min.
Baste tenderloin with 1 cup of barbecue sauce and continue cooking until meat thermometer reads desired doneness. About 1 & 1/2 to 2 hrs. for rare.
